Amanda L. Rotondo, PT, DPT

Dr. Amanda Rotondo is the owner and founder of Precious Movements Physical Therapy, P.C. She holds a B.S. in Health & Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey (2010) and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the College of Staten Island, CUNY Graduate Center (2013). She has extensive experience working with both children and adults with various orthopedic and neurological conditions and developmental delays. Dr. Amanda has practiced as a Physical Therapist at NY Methodist Hospital, JAG Physical Therapy, Sunny Days Early Intervention Services, and in private home care.  She is also a CPSE & RSA provider.

Dr. Amanda is currently the Director of Clinical Education & Assistant Professor at The College of Staten Island in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She has taught courses such as Clinical Education Theories, Therapeutic Exercise, Health Promotions, Differential Diagnosis in Orthopedics, Psychosocial Aspects of Patient Care, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, and Foundations of Patient Care.  She is actively involved in research conducting studies related to interventions for pediatric conditions such as Cerebral Palsy. Dr. Amanda is an executive Board Member of the APTA-NY Brooklyn/Staten Island District (District Chair 2021-present, Treasurer 2019-2021, Secretary 2017-2019) and has served as a delegate for the APTA-NY Brooklyn/Staten Island District at Delegate Assembly in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.  She has worked as Clinical Manager as well as internship and volunteer coordinator at JAG Physical Therapy.  

Dr. Amanda is Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), an LSVT BIG Certified Clinician, Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP), and Credentialed Clinical Instructor (CCI). She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (Pediatric, Orthopedic, Education, and Research sections), APTA-NY, and NY/NJ PT Clinical Education Consortium.  Dr. Amanda enhances her clinical skills by attending continuing education courses and workshops several times per year.  She has also previously served on the Board of Trustees at Moore Catholic High School.

In her spare time, Dr. Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband & family & friends, cooking, baking, crafting, traveling, playing board games (Scrabble is her favorite!), and watching movies.


Cristina Chiacchiero, PT, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Cristina is a graduate of the College of Staten Island’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Dr. Cristina is a pelvic health specialist having trained with the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor Institute. She completed a clinical rotation in a pelvic floor clinic and has continued her education as lab assistant for Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor Courses. She is a pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist. Dr. Cristina currently works part time for PMPT as a pelvic floor PT. Cristina is also an adjunct professor at the College of Staten Island DPT program.


JoAnn Gaal

Office Manager

JoAnn is PMPT’s greatest asset; she’s kept the office up and running smoothly for the past 8 years! She is the first smiling face you will see upon entering PMPT’s office. In JoAnn’s former life, she was an elementary school principal at St. Joseph-St. Thomas and then Director at Holy Child Preschool, from where she recently retired. JoAnn enjoys sipping her cup of Lipton Tea, watching crime shows, traveling, and spending time with her family and adorable dog, Teddy.
